food for thought today. just one of my many rants.

Individual cultures use law and science as coping mechanisms, creating boundaries arounds oneself to look after number 1 and validating that belief through measures such as law suits; taking the humanity out of the way people react to one another. This diminishes emotional capacity due to the fact that you no longer function in a way that forces you to make life choices based on the greater good and the way you interact with your larger community in fact changes and becomes somewhat obsolete. In collective societies you learn to live and interact with each other, understanding that your decision effects the larger group. You are forced to learn how to be emotionally sensitive not only to oneself but also to the collective which ultimately benefits all not just one.
